Energetus was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the reversible hydroelectric plant of Calheta III, belonging to the Electricity Company of Madeira (EEM).

The turnkey work included the hydroelectric plant with two horizontal axis Pelton turbines, with 15 MW and 672 meters of drop each, a main pumping station with 3 variable speed centrifugal pumps with 5.1 MW and a maximum head of 750 meters, a secondary pumping station with two centrifugal pumps with 0.09 MW and a head of 80 meters and a forced and lifting pipeline, partially buried, with an average diameter of 1200 mm and an extension of more than 4 km.

The Project also includes all the electrical installation, including two step-up transformers, to deliver the energy to the 60 kV network as well as all the command and control system of the whole installation and interface with the dispatch system of EEM.

Enercontainer - Energetus power station

Enercontainer - Energetus power station

Enercontainer is an integrated electric and thermal power station for prime power production that can run 24h on either natural gasor diesel with an electric power output of 1,0 to 2,5 MW (up to 3 MW with Diesel).

Being a containerized solution, pre-built and pre-tested, it allows shorter installation times and requires less space than any other kind of power station.

  • Reduces the necessary local work
  • Easy transportation or relocation
  • Only requires access to natural gas or diesel supply
